After stupidly losing my old Blogger template modifications, I decided to switch over to using Word Press blogging software. I wish I had done so months ago. The switch was completely painless, and it imported all of my old entries and comments. The software was free, and the changes that it will allow me to do will make the site better, easier to navigate, and easier for me to maintain!
Also, note that you need to be using my Feedburner feed, as I changed my old RSS feed address. I think that this only affects one person.
I apologize for the raw default template, big changes will be coming soon!
By the way, if anyone happens to run into this entry while looking for keywords like Blogger Wordpress Import or Blogger Wordpress Switch, note that you can very easily set the permalink URLs on your imported Blogger entries to match what they were before the switch. This can best be done by setting your permalink structure in Wordpress to the same format as Blogger (omit the days in the named option, basically), and add a .html at the end of that format. Then, in each entry, alter the slug so that it matches the original entry name from Blogger. It’s a bit of manual labor, but it should not take too long for anything less than 125 posts. Then again, I’ve only fixed one so far, when I fix them all tomorrow I’d be in a better position to talk.
