I woke up to the good news this morning, compliments of the Bad Astronomer. The New York Times has the story as well. I had called for Deutsch’s resignation in my Monday Space Policy Roudup. However, as much as I’d like to think he read my blog and felt remorse, his real reason for resignation was that he lied on his resume. He did not actually graduate from Texas A&M university. He assumed his position at NASA in 2003 after being a leader in the Young Republicans. Apparently graduating and actually getting his bachelor’s degree was too much work, as was actually being qualified for his job.
