Today, Apple released a major expansion of its TV show offerings, including something I’ve wanted for a very long time: Battlestar Galactica. It’s also added shows from NBC, USA, the Disney Channel and more. Though this is not a development that will go towards the general “betterment of the universe” goals of this blog, it goes a long way towards the “betterment of Anthony Kendall’s universe” blog, as I have neither the money nor the time to watch Battlestar Galactica on its parent network, SciFi.
I thought I might just quickly update regular readers on some features at Anthonares.net that I’ve been working on improving. First, I’m sure you’ve all noticed the “Delicious Links” RSS feed that gets sent out daily (note, this is only if you subscribe to my feedburner feed by clicking the XML link on the sidebar, my anthonares.net feed doesn’t have it). These are links I put together most every day that summarize the rather large collection of feeds and sites that I monitor. Also, you may have notice an “Author’s Favorites” pulldown menu on the sidebar. I’ve added this (using del.icio.us again) in order to keep current some of my favorite posts.
I’m also working on adding a pulldown for my series features such as the multi-part review I’m currently working on of The Politically Incorrect Guide to Science, and the Peer-Reviewed Research Synopses that I’ve been publishing each week. I haven’t quite decided how to do this yet, so if you are a regular site visitor you’ll probably see it come up sometime in the next few weeks.
Finally, I’ll be taking a vacation from December 21st or so until the 30th. But, while I’m gone I’ll be working on the start of an open-ended feature about economic justifications for spaceflight. So, hopefully before the end of the month I’ll have the first offerings from that. Oh, and stick around for the next few chapters of the PIG Science book, the reviews are going to be interesting!
